ALPE DEL NEVEGAL
Alpe del Nevegal is a region located in the province of Belluno, and it is rich in history, natural beauty, and tourism. The area has been inhabited since the Roman Empire, and during the Middle Ages, it was a transit point ruled by several different dynasties, with a thriving trade and craft sector.
In the early 19th century, the tourism potential of the region was discovered, and it became a center for activities such as skiing, mountaineering, and nature walks. In the mid-20th century, several ski resorts and other tourist facilities were built in the area.
During World War II, Alpe del Nevegal was also of strategic importance. After Italy fell under German occupation, the mountainous areas in the region became a center of the local resistance movement.
Local and foreign people coming from S.Croce train station reach the station located at the lower level of the building by using the cable car line. The building is accessed by ramps from the cable car station. The building is divided into spaces, illuminated by tiny courtyards and the main courtyard on the inside.
